Mens Skinny Jeans And Drainpipe Jeans Are Back On The Rise

It is probably not possible to go a day without jeans in your life in some way, shape or form. It seems like everyone is wearing them. From young people to old people and girls to boys, there probably is not a person on the planet that does not own jeans. Even if you do not own any, there are enough people that do. Jeans come in many different styles such as drainpipe jeans.

Back in the mid nineteenth century Levi Strauss saw a need for a more utilitarian style of clothing for the gold miners of California. Rivets were added to the material for strength and kept parts of the clothing like pockets from ripping. Together, Levi Strauss and David Jacobs considered patenting this new style of clothing. Working together, they finished the design and patented it. Since then, the different styles and types have evolved over the years. Namely they are the straight cut, flare cut, boot cut, bell bottom and the skinny jeans.
Drainpipe jeans are another favorite worn by people like Lil’ Wayne or Micheal Jackson.

They sort of fall into the skinny Jean category but are by far much skinnier. Another difference is the higher waist line on these jeans. This is not to mention that they are much thinner than other jeans. Besides those slight differences, they are essentially the same. Another difference is that the lower legs of drainpipes are straight instead of tapering and so they are often a slight baggier at the bottom of the leg than skinny jeans.Back in the ’50s, Elvis Presley swung his hips in a pair of drainpipe jeans and they became instantly popular. You can even see him wearing them in a variety of movies he was part of. From then on, the rock n’ roll genre and black drainpipe jeans have become fused for eternity.

Since then, other rock bands like the Sex Pistols and the Rolling Stones have also worn them. During the mid to late ’80s. bands like KISS and Bon Jovi switch from their tell tale Spandex wear to black drainpipe jeans as well. However with rise of grunge, hip-hop music and the post thrash movement, drainpipe jeans rapidly went out of trend. Soon after in the early 2000′s, these drainpipe jeans started to make a heavy come back. Favored by hipsters and popularized again by garage rock revival band The Strokes, they replace the baggy gangster jeans as once again the favorites. They were also being brought back into style but the younger emo generation too. New clothing designers have also sought to use the style in the new clothing lines too. Celebrities such as Angelina Jolie Kate Moss and Sienna Miller embrace the new trend and look remarkable in it. With their growing popularity again, there is not an outlet store out there that does not have these drainpipe jeans for sale.

No matter who you are, you are sure to look good in a pair of these. Drainpipe jeans have proven the test of time and will likely never fade away again.
